Braun, Marie Age 93, of Beach Park passed away on November 12, 2011 at the Terrace Nursing Home in Waukegan. She was born April 25, 1918 in Pierz, Minnesota, the daughter of the late Dominic and Helen (nee Schmitz) Merkling. Marie worked for many years at St. Therese Hospital and attended Our Lady of Humility Church, she loved to play bingo and enjoyed her trips to a casino. She lived for many years in her native Minnesota and enjoyed hunting but especially loved fishing. Marie is survived by her sister Bernice Sloan; daughter, Mary Faust; son, Tom (Kathleen) Faust; grandchildren, Deborah (Ed) Sikich, Julie (Pete) Sikich and Bryan Faust; great grandchildren, Karli Hamlet, Hannah Hamlet, Mathew Hamlet, Kevin Sworthout and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Andrew (Red) Faust; second husband John Braun; brothers, Gerard Merkling, Edwin Merkling and Elmer Merkling. Funeral mass will be 11:00 am on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at Our Lady of Humility Church 10655 W. Wadsworth Rd. Beach Park. Interment will be private at Willow Lawn Memorial Park.
