Miss Claudia Leigh Brewer, 73, of Niceville, Fla., went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Nov. 13, 2011.
She was born on Oct. 8, 1938, in Crestview, Fla., and was a life-long resident of Niceville. Claudia was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Cozette Brewer; grandparents, Jessie and Addie Senterfitt, and Dallas and Dora Brewer; brother-in-law, Samuel H. Dunaway; nephew, Thomas J. Barfield; sister-in-law, Betty Jo Brewer; one sister, Nell Wucherpfennig; and several aunts and uncles.
She is survived by her sisters, Sarah Dunaway of Freeport, Fla., Janette Barfield (Aubrey) of Niceville, and Charlotte Godsey (James) of Beavercreek, Ohio; her brothers, Jack Brewer of Holt, Fla., and James Brewer (Elaine) of Niceville; and brother-in-law, Charles Wucherpfennig of Niceville. Claudia is also survived by nieces and nephews, Jessie Stone(Rick) of Freeport, Samuel D. Dunaway (Robin) of Tampa, Fla., John Dunaway (Bonny) of Freeport, Michael Dunaway (Kristie) of Freeport, Ada Guinn(Richard) of St. Johns, Ariz., Lani Naylor of Cedar Falls, Iowa, A.R. Godsey III (Jessica) of Huber Heights, Ohio, Alex Godsey of Beavercreek, Diane Kirkland of Auburndale, Fla., Denise Brewer of Tempe, Ariz., Donna Lynn Brewer of Jacksonville, Fla., James Lonnie Brewer of Orlando, Fla., and Jonathan Brewer of Niceville. She is also survived by numerous great-nieces and nephews, cousins, her church family and friends.
Claudia was a retired dental assistant, having worked for Dr. Charles Glenn (deceased.) and Dr. Frank Myers. Claudia was an active member of Rosemont Baptist Church in Niceville.
There will be a time of visitation on Friday, Nov. 18, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Heritage Gardens Funeral Home in Niceville.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 19, at 10 a.m. at Rosemont Baptist Church, Niceville, with the Revs. Doug Fannon and Samuel D. Dunaway officiating. Pallbearers will be the Deacons of Rosemont Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Early Cemetery in Niceville.
