Mrs. J.J. Boone of Hahira Dies
Hahira - Mrs. J.J. Boone, 71, prominent resident of Hahira, died in the local
hospital Wednesday afternoon following a lengthy illness.
Funeral services were conducted from the Hahira Methodist Church of which
she was an active member, Friday afternoon at 3 o'clock, with burial in New
Friendship Church Cemetery, one mile west of Hahira. Her pastor, Reverend
Albert Hall, conducted the services, assisted by the Reverend Rufus
Robinson, pastor of the Hahira Baptist Church.
Mrs. Boone was born June 26, 1876. She moved to this section as a bride and
spent most of her life here. Prior to her marriage she was Miss Sarah Hester
Pafford of Coffee County.
She is survived by her husband with whom she celebrated their golden
anniversary in July of this year. Also surviving are four sons: J.B. Boone
of Hahira, A.C. Boone of Adel, J.L. Boone and W.B. Boone, both of
Jacksonville, FL; and three daughters, Mrs. H.D. Lehman of Hahira, Mrs. Eddie
Miller and Mrs. J.T. Edwards both of Tampa, FL. She is also survived by 35
grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Dora Rogers of
Ray City and Mrs. Fannie Corbitt of Kirkland.
Mrs. Boone had a wide circle of friends and family connections in Georgia and
Florida who will be grieved to learn of her death.

Alice Mainor.
