Robert E. Datweiler, 77, Independence, died Friday, April 12, 2002, at Carmel Hills Living Center in Independence. Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 16, at the Langsford Funeral Home, Lee's Summit, with burial in Englewood Cemetery, Clinton. He was born June 5, 1924, in Clinton, the son of Earnest and Clodean Datweiler. He worked for the Jackson County Public Works as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the American Legion in Independence. He was preceded in death by his wife, Letha Rush Datweiler. He is survived by his son, Donald Datweiler of Independence; two grandchildren, and a great-grandson.
