Funeral services for Webb Doyle Holmes, 91, of Bossier City, La., were Oct. 28, 1999, at Capps Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George Rogers officiating. He died Oct. 26, 1999, at Riverview Care Center, Bossier City, La. Holmes was a materials test technician for the Mississippi Highway Dept., a member of Koran Baptist Church of Haughton, La., and a former resident of Tylertown. He was born March 14, 1908, at Old Pike County, son of the late Rufus E. and Lou Reeves Holmes. He married the former Vera Mae Rush, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Alice Stogner and Delaine Holmes; and two brothers, Charles Holmes and Louie Holmes. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Carrie H. Holmes and Thomas Holmes Sr. of Bossier City, La.; three grandsons, Thomas C. Holmes Jr. of Panama City, Fla., Paul E. Holmes of Elm Grove, La., and Keith A. Holmes of Greenwell Springs, La.; seven great grandsons; six great-granddaughters; a brother, John Holmes of Tylertown. Pallbearers were Lyndell Rushing, Bobby Brumfield, Bruce Rush, Robert Hull, Jerry Holmes and Philip Conerly. Burial was in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens with Capps Funeral Home in charge.
