Born Dec. 12, 1896, in Vonore, Tenn., she was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Isbel. Her husband, Kelly J. Whitacre, died Jan. 6, 1955.
Survivors include two sons, Robert H. of 1742 Homeward, and Donald E. of 613 Meadowbrook; three daughters, Mrs. Ray (Marguerite) Cooper of Miami, Fla., Mrs. Niles (June) Custer of 551 S. Scott and Mrs. Richard (Helen) Miller of 858 Mackenzie Dr.; two brothers, Arthur Isbel of Ashville, N.C. and William Isbel of Buhl, Idaho; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Whitacre was a member of the South Side Christian Church.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Chiles and Sons - Laman Chapel of Memories, Rev. Nathan Smith officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
