Debra K. "Debbie" Johns, 50, of Lafayette, died at 6:06 p.m. Monday, November 14, 2011 in her home surrounded by her family. Debbie was born September 12, 1961 in Lafayette, the daughter of the late Marvin Everette Cadwallader and Nancy Lee Littleton Carter. She has made Lafayette her home all of her life and was educated in the Lafayette Schools. Her first marriage was in 1978 in Lafayette to Robert Krummerich and he lives in Lafayette. Her second marriage was to William L. Johns, Sr. in 1981 in Lafayette and he lives in Lafayette. Debbie was a cashier for several years at the former Hill's Department Store on Teal Road. She had attended Schuyler Avenue Wesleyan Church and formerly belonged to the Woman of the Moose and the VFW Auxiliary. Before she became ill, Debbie was active in the woman's and mixed bowling leagues at Star Lanes and Market Square Lanes. She enjoyed collecting Mardi Gras masks and figurines of horses and unicorns. Debbie was also a fan of Elvis Presley and loved listening to his music. Debbie is survived by her daughter, Michelle Dever and her husband Adam of West Lafayette, two sons, Walter Carter Krummrich and Tracy Lee Krummrich, and one sister, Brenda Lee Carter of West Lafayette. Debbie is also survived by her seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two step-sons, Robbie Lee Johns and William L. "Chico" Johns, Jr., and two sisters, Kelly Jo Rice and Tracy Ann Cadwallader.

The family will receive friends Thursday 5-8 p.m. at Hippensteel Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday in Hippensteel Chapel. Interment to follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Lung Association or the American Heart Association . Hippensteel Funeral Home entrusted with care.
