Glenda Marie "Cissy" Bowman May 30, 1956 ~ Nov. 11, 2011 Miss Glenda Marie "Cissy" Bowman, age 55, of Elkin, NC passed away on Friday evening, November 11, 2011 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital in Elkin. She was born in Forsyth County on May 30, 1956 to the late Rev. Harvey J. Bowman and to Alice Dixon Bowman. Surviving are her mother, Alice Dixon Bowman of Elkin; two sisters and brothers-in-law Linda "her twin sister" and her husband Steve Melton of Kernersville, NC; Joanne and Tony Holleman of Elkin; two nieces Ann Melton, and Lynn Wagner; two nephews Steven Melton, and Brian Holleman; two great-nieces Raylin Melton, and Riley Melton. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, November 14, 2011 at Roaring Gap Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery. Rev. Joe Atkins and Rev. Craig Key will conduct the services. Her body will remain at Moody-Davis Funeral Home until taken to the Church to lie in state 30 min. before the service. The family will receive friends at Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson on Sunday evening from 7 until 9 p.m. and at other times at the home of her mother on Dobbins Mill Rd. Elkin, NC. The family would like to give a special thanks to Lisa and Clarissa and the second floor staff at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital, and a very special thanks to Dr. Timothy Barron, also a special thanks to the staff at Willowbrook Nursing Center in Yadkin County.
