Mrs. Della Iretha Francis, 69 years old, passed away Saturday at a nursing home in Lutesville. Mrs. Francis was born January 31, 1895 near Marquand and was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Volley Biffel. On March 19, 1913 she was married to John Pulliam, who died two years later. In 1917 she married Isaac D. Francis, who preceded her in death on August 26, 1958.
She was a member of the Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church near Marquand.
Surviving are five sons, Cebert Pulliam of Springfield, IL; T-Sgt John Glen Francis with the Army in Australia; S-Sgt. I.D. Francis with the Army at Devins, MA; Sgt. David Francis, with the Army at Fort Lewis, WA; Robert Francis of Pleasant Hill, CA; four daughters, Mrs. Dale (Kathleen) Hahs, of St. Louis, MO; Mrs. Denver (Virginia) Nichols of St. louis, MO; Mrs. June James of St. Louis, MO; Mrs. Gordon (Mary) Laster of Muskogee, OK; five step-daughters, Mrs. J.C. (Louise) Englehart of Marble Hill, MO; Mrs. Ralph (Ilene) Pairres of Piedmont, MO; Mrs. Glen (Jewell) Small of Festus, MO; Mrs. John (Marie) Stevens of St. Louis, MO; and Mrs. Edwin (Bess) Stoll of St. Louis, MO; 28 grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; a number of great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. L.H. Wihlford of Arvin, CA.
Four children and three step-children preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at Baker Funeral Home in Lutesville. Burial was in Slaybaugh Cemetery.
