Francis Caroline Hale was my grandmother. She was born in Big Clify, Grayson County, KY and died in North Palmyra, Macoupin County, IL. She married James Newton Lair in South Palmyra, Macoupin County, IL 22 Apr 1888 and they lived in the Palmyra area all their lives. Her parents were Willis Wayne Hale and Martha Mahala Gibson. The famous frontiersman, Daniel Boone, was her grgrgrgruncle. James Newton Lair's parents were Samuel Lair and Sarah Ann Tosh who also spent their entire life in the Palmyra, IL area.
