Mr. Clownie Earl "Tony" Reed Jr., 71, of Thurmont, died Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010, in Kearneysville, W.Va.
Born in Poolesville, he was the son of the late Clownie Earl Sr. and Pearl Pangle Reed.
Mr. Reed served his country in the U.S. Army.
In earlier years, he was the owner of Reed Construction and later of A&T Sales.
He loved going to and selling at flea markets. Tony used to sell his treasures at the flea market on U.S. 15 for many years.
He is survived by his children, Glenn Reed and wife, Charleen, of Smithsburg, Deana McKendrick and husband, Brian, of Waynesboro, Pa., Toni Smith and husband, Brandon, of Smithsburg, and Joni Reed of Boonsboro; 10 grandchildren; and a brother, Russell Reed of Oregon. He was preceded in death by a son, Wayne Reed; and a brother, David Reed.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, at the funeral home. Pastor Jim Morrison will officiate.
