Marjorie M. Bruner, 73, of Aledo, died Monday,
Jan. 21, 2008, at Trinity Medical Center,
West Campus, Rock Island.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the
United Methodist Church, Aledo. Burial
will be in Cordova Cemetery. Visitation
will be 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Gibson
Funeral Home, Port Byron, and 10 a.m. to
service time Friday at the church. Memorials
may be made to the United Methodist Church,
Aledo, Elevator Fund.

The former Marjorie Mae Bird was born
May 1, 1934, in Monmouth, the daughter
of Harry and Beatrice Bryans Bird. She
married Wayne Bruner March 22, 1959, in
Seaton. She graduated from the former
Moline Public Hospital School of Nursing
in 1958. She had been employed as a
registered nurse at the former Moline
Public Hospital, the Jane Lamb Hospital,
Clinton, and Illini Hospital, Silvis. She
was a member of the United Methodist Church,
Aledo, where she served on several committees.
She was also a member of the Naomi-Wesleyan
Circle of the Church. She had been a Cub
Scout leader.

Marjorie enjoyed gardening, woodworking,
bird watching and all of nature.

Survivors include her husband; daughters
and sons-in-law, Lisa and Steve Raischel,
Erie, and Theresa and Bryan Leydens, Trevor,
Wis.; seven grandchildren; six great-
grandchildren; and a brother and
sister-in-law, John and Deloris Bird,
Little York, Ill. She was preceded in
death by a son, David, in 2001, and her
twin sister, Marilyn Bird, in 1987.
