Admitted to the bar in Connersville, Indiana and worked as editor of paper there. First wife was Indiana McCarty May 1, 1849, she died 21 Dec. 1851. Married Kitty Scovel May 4, 1866. He died July 11, 1872. Leaving his wife and son Edward to run the malt making business. Their union produced two sons: Harry S. Burrowes and Clifford Burrowes..Clifford is buried in this cemetery with his parents. Harry. S. Burrowes was a farmer in central Louisiana, and married to Eloise Polk Burrowes. They are buried in Willmer Cemetery, Rapides Parish, Lousiana.
