--Dr. John Puckett, 68, Converse, died at Marion General Hospital after an illness of three weeks.
--A retired dentist, he was born in Winchester, Ind., Feb. 22, 1980, and was the son of Charles and Lola Frazer Puckett.
--He was a veteran of World War II, and a retired U.S. Army Colonel, a member of the Masonic Lodge 601, Converse, the Fort Wayne Scottish Rite and Shrine.
--He was married to Gladys Burnham on Jan. 1, 1941, and she survives.
--Also surviving are three daughters, Sandra Mazzola of Saginaw, Mich., Lola Fannin and Charlene Puckett both of Winchester, Ky.; one brother, Jess Puckett of Dunedin, Fla., and four grandchildren.
--The funeral will be at the Laird Funeral Home, Amboy at 10 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Bill Rogers officiating. Burial will be in the Marion national Cemetery.
--Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. today, with Masonic rites at 8 p.m.
