Thomas Sletteland

Philippine Insurrection Congressional Medal of Honor recipient. Entered the service at Grafton, North Dakota and served as a Private, United States Army in Company C, 1st North Dakota Infantry. Near Paete, Luzon, Philippine Islands on April 12, 1899, he single-handed and alone defended his dead and wounded comrades against a greatly superior force of the enemy. His Medal was awarded on March 12, 1902.
