Lloyd Lee Myers, 89, 4411 Peake Mountain Road, Fulks Run, went to be with the Lord, May 2, 2011 at Harrisonburg Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Mr. Myers was born on March 8, 1922 in the Greenmount area of Rockingham County and was the son of the late John Isaac and Ada Virginia Ritchie Myers. He attended Mount Clinton High School where he played baseball and basketball. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He continued to be a basketball fan and watched games on television all of his life. He was a lifelong dairy farmer and cut and sold firewood for many years. He was a member of the Fairview Church of the Brethren where he served as deacon for 60 years. On October 12, 1946 he married Fannie Jane Cline who preceded him in death November 5, 1979. On September 20, 1980 he married Maida Reedy Fulk who preceded him in death March 1, 2006.

Surviving are two sons, Donald W. Myers and wife Linda; Carroll L. Myers and wife Rita, all of Harrisonburg; two step sons, Richard Fulk and wife Patsy; Robert (Bobby) Fulk and wife Diane; one brother, John D. Myers, of Harrisonburg; a sister Mabel Martin, Harrisonburg; three grandchildren, Sara Myers Price and husband Daniel of Grottoes; Justin Myers and wife Alison of Dayton; Timothy Myers of Verona; five great grandchildren, Zachary Price, Cayden Price, Haily Myers, Graham Myers, and Andrew Myers.

Mr. Myers was preceded in death by a brother Russell A. Myers and a sister Nellie Ritchie.

Reverends Jim Hall and Walt Crull will conduct a funeral service Wednesday afternoon May 4, 2011, at 3 pm at Fairview Church of the Brethren. Burial will follow at Mount Horeb Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from seven until nine at the McMullen Funeral Home, Harrisonburg. Memorial contributions may be made to the Fairview Church of the Brethren, c/o Bob Cullers, 6588 Singers Glen Road, Harrisonburg, Virginia 22802.
