She was united in marriage to John Boernsen on January 22, 1918, at May City, Iowa. After their marriage they were engaged in farming in the May City area until moving into the town of May City in 1958.
She passed away on August 19, 1972, at the Hartley Community Hospital at Hartley, Iowa, at the age of 73 years, 10 months and 15 days.
She is survived by one son, Elmer of Ocheyedan, and one daughter, Helen (Mrs. Carl Everts) of Seward, Nebraska.; eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild; one brother, John Mielke of Loveland, Colorado, and one sister, Mrs. Minnie Sandersfeld of May City. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on Dec. 21, 1970; one infant son and City and a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in May City with interment in the Harrison Township cemetery.
