James Heilman, 61, McCutchenville, died of a heart ailment at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10, 1981, at St. Vincent's Hospital, Toledo. He was born June 6, 1920 in Berwick to James C. and Mary E. (Clouse) Heilman. He married Laura A. Bare on Oct. 10, 1939, and she survives, along with a son, James R. Heilman of McCutchenville and a sister, Mrs. Robert (Rosemary) Smith of Fostoria.

A lifelong resident of the McCutchenville area, he was employed at Bendix Autolite in Fostoria. He was a member of McCutchenville United Church of Christ, Wyandot Lodge No. 314, F&AM; Carey Chapter No. 159, RAM DeMolay Commandery No. 9, Tiffin, Zenobia Temple, Toledo; William Myers Chapter No. 196, McCutenville OES, and of the Tiffin Hornets. A veteran of World War II, he was a member of Sycamore American Legion Post No. 250.
