She was the daughter of John and Ann Amelia (Schultz) Lowmaster Sr. Mary, as she was called, was baptized July 20, 1806 at York, Pa. She married Michael William Hufford, Sr. The couple had ten children: Sarah Eleanor; Silas; Melanchton; Michael William; Amelia; Caroline; Leah; Rachel; Aaron; and Charley.
