Lillian Marie Sexton Johnson, age 86, of Santa Ana, California, formerly of Miller, Missouri, passed away at 9:55 a.m. on Tuesday, November 8, 2011, in her home. She was born January 23, 1925, in Miller, Missouri, the daughter of Raymond and Jewell Marie (Washam) Sexton. Lillian graduated Valedictorian of the Miller High School class of 1943. She then proudly graduated from the Chillicothe College and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Miller. She retired in 1990 from UPS where she worked as a supervisor for 21 years. On April 1, 1944 she married George Pugh. He preceded her in death on September 26, 1979. On August 3, 1996 she married Jack Gordon Johnson in Las Vegas, Nevada. He survives her of the home.
Additional survivors include: five daughters, Sandra Owings of Modesto, California, Sabra (Chuck) Cobleigh of San Diego, California, Sue (Bob) Shirley of Las Vegas, Nevada, Jennifer (Tom) Melendez of Garden Grove, California, Sara Coster of Austin, Texas; two sons, Travis (Denise) Pugh of Mesa, Arizona and Steven (Pam) Pugh of Springfield, Illinois; three brothers, Lewis (Carlene) Sexton of Miller; Bob (Sylvia) Sexton of Orland, California, John Adamson of Springfield; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents, one son, Scott Pugh and grandson, Chris Shirley also preceded her in death.
A graveside service, under the direction of the Morris-Leiman-Mosher Funeral Home will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 16, 2011, at the Shiloh Cemetery northeast of Miller. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
