Funeral services for Vernon Bragg, 67, were held 3 p.m. at Pennington Memorial Chapel on June 24 with the Rev. Hugh Busby officiating. Interment followed in the Memory Lawn Memorial Park.

Mr. Bragg had been a resident of San Marcos for the past 41 years. He was a member of the First Christian Church and retired as a barber after 41 years in Bragg's Barber Shop. He lived at 2001 Old Austin Highway.

He died at Hay Memorial Hospital on June 22 after a short illness.

Survivors include his wife, Abbie Bragg of San Marcos; one great-uncle, Hubert Revill of Marshall; four daughters, Mrs. Wanda Godwin of Maine, Mrs. Lou Ann Carmean of Missouri, Mrs. Joyce Snyder of McAllen and Mrs. Kathern Theriot of Louisiana; five sons, Nolen C. Bragg, Bunny Bragg and Eddie Porter of San Marcos, Franklin Porter of Arkansas and Preston Porter of Abilene; and two brothers, Cody Bragg of Takhoka, Texas and Fane Bragg of Lockhart.

Pallbearers were Malcolm Sherrill, Cecil Hyatt, C. C. Latdley, R. H. Thrash, Tom Senderlin, Ed Jourdan and honorary pallbearers were H. A. Saunders, Bobby Martindale, Friday Ellis, Max Smith, Wilson Fairly, Gordon Eastwood and Gus Eoff.
