He was born on April 2, 1928 in Lexington County to the late Pearl Franklin Davis and Grover Cleveland Davis.
He was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church of Batesburg.
A former business owner/distributor for Wallace Pork Skins. He was president of the Junior Chamber of Commerce from 1962-1963. He proudly served our country in the United States Army and Korean War. He was a member of the Ponderosa Country Club for many years.
God blessed Thel with 83 sucessful years. He was a hard working business man with a genuine, simple spirit that took pride in every detail of his life. He loved his family dearly and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Thel is survived by his loving wife, Judy Barnes Davis of Batesburg, two daughters, a son and two sons-in-laws: Mitzi Davis (Donnie) Craps of Mountain Rest, SC; Harvey Todd Davis of Richmond Virginia; Amy Davis (Jamie) Fallaw of Monetta; sister, Marian Taylor of Batesburg; sister-in-law, Rubie Davis of Leesville; six step-grandchildren; numerous family members.
Thel was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. A twin sister, Amy E. Davis, William Davis, Ruby Lynn Risinger, James Harold Davis, Leonard Davis and Mary Cleverta Davis.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Faith Lutheran Church in Batesburg.
Funeral services will be held at Faith Lutheran Church in Batesburg, with burial in Ridge Crest Memorial Park Cemetery.
Milton Shealy Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
