Patricia Ann ''Patty' McCallister, 54, of Scott Depot went to be with her blessed Lord and Savior after suffering a long illness.

She was born October 15, 1951, and was a daughter of Rosie Hughes of Scott Depot and the late Owen Hughes.

She was a 1969 graduate of Winfield High School and was a retired bookkeeper with 21 years of service. She was co-owner of Winfield Hardware.

Patty became a Christian as a young child. As a member of the Church of God, she attended Scary Creek Church of God, Scott Depot, for over 10 years where she was active in the Women of the Church of God, music committee, prayer care team and the Gospel Outreach Ministry. Most recently, Patty ministered alongside her husband who is currently the pastor of Southwest Church of God, South Charleston. Patty was honored for her testimony of faith in July 2006 at a gospel benefit sing in Nitro.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Calvin McCallister; her daughter, Monica Mason and her husband, James; her grandchildren, Hannah, Grace and Emma, all of Suffolk, Va.; her mother-in-law, Hager McCallister of Scott Depot; her brother-in-law, D.D. McCallister and his wife, Carol Jean, of St. Albans; her nephew, Jimmy McCallister and his wife, Jeanie, of Hurricane; her niece, Terri Diane Cook of Graham, N.C.; great-nieces, Lauren McCallister of St. Albans and Chandler Cook of Graham, N.C.; great-nephew, Devin McCallister of Hurricane; and many extended family and friends.

A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 14, at Scary Creek Church of God, Scott Depot, with the Rev. Gary Hale and the Rev. Keith Hudson officiating. Burial will be in Mount Vernon Cemetery, Hurricane.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Chapman Funeral Home, 3941 Teays Valley Road, Hurricane.
