Methodist Episcopal minister. Husband of Edith Wynne Gibbons. Father of Gertrude and Robert.

Brother of Dr. Edward Bernreuter of Mt Olive Illinois and Judge Louis Bernreuter of Nashville, Illinois.

Also Helen Ficken of Bison Kansas, Tilly Krumsick of Nashville, Illinois, and Lydia Schnert of Bible Grove, Illinois.

Described as sincere, sensitive, and easily annoyed by the petty details of his job, he was meticulous and methodical in all his ways. He suffered from a nervous ailment that terminated with a stroke.

Helped build a large lovely church in Tampico. A large stained glass window was placed in the Tampico church in his memory by his devoted parishoners.

He knew seven languages and was also a poet and hymn writer. He was a professor of ancient languages at Spokane College, Washington at one time.
