Mrs. Gertrude B. ALDERFER, 77, R.R. 1, Argos, died at noon Saturday in Parkview hospital at Plymouth. She had been seriously ill three days. She was born March 16, 1886 in Richland township of Fulton county to Dallas and Iva COPLEN FLETCHER. She was married Jan. 29, 1917 in Plymouth to C. Lee ALDERFER, who died in 1963. She had resided most of her life southeast of Argos in the Walnut Brethren community. She was a lifetime member of the Walnut Gospel church. Surviving are two sons, Herman [ALDERFER], R.R. 1, Argos, and Weldon [ALDERFER], R.R. 2, Argos; a sister, Mrs. Opal LAUGHMAN, Columbia City; six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Last rites will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Grossman funeral home in Argos with the Revs. Wayne SPEICHER and Robert KLATT officiating. Burial will be in the Richland Center I.O.O.F. cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. today.
