An abridged biography of the undersigned for the benefit of any who feel any interest in the same.
"I was born September 22, 1819 in the county of Lillard (now Lafayette) territory, Missouri.
In August 1824 I lost my father, in the spring of 1828 the family removed to Jackson County, Missouri, in August of 1837, while on a visit to relatives, I attended a meeting of the Disciples held at an old campground where Dover now stands. There made public profession of my faith in Christ, my blessed Savior.
In January 1838 married Miss Mary Ann Garner with whom, by the blessings of God, I am permitted to live this day over 40 years.
In April 1838 settled in Platte County. Sometime in the year 1844 I removed myself from the church in Platte County and connected myself with the Long Branch congregation in this Andrew County and soon after commenced exercising the little talent God had given me.
In 1846 I was ordained Elder and preacher (by fast and prayer) of the Williams Grove congregation, organized by consent of the Long Branch congregation, out of said congregation.
From the time of my ordination till now, with the exception of six years in Nodaway and about six months in Antioch, I have lived and labored principally in Andrew County.
(signed) W. R. Trapp
P. S. The Presbytary officiating at my ordination was Elder Jordan Wright and Benj. R. King."
