Donald O. Anderson, 68, a lifelong Cedar Rapids resident, died of cancer Monday at Americana Healthcare Center.
He was born October 4, 1915, at Cedar Rapids, and was a truck driver for Cedar Rapids Transfer for 21 years prior to retirement. He was a member of American Legion Hanford Post # 5.
Survivors include a son, Lon R. of Cedar Rapids; two daughters, Lynda Rae Peeler of Santa Barbara, California, and Pamela Kaye Anderson of Dallas, Texas; a brother, Alfred of Winterset, Iowa; and three sisters, Charlotte Clark of Cedar Rapids, Alice McGhan of Sacramento, California, and Catherine Skala of Los Angeles, California.
Services: 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories by the Rev. Charles Mehaffey of Asbury United Methodist Church. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Military services by Hanford Post # 5. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday. The casket will be closed prior to service.
