GALESBURG - Richard L. Clark, 58, of 1041 W. Brooks St. died at 4:18 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 28, 2003, at OSF St. Mary Medical Center.

Born Aug. 20, 1945, in Galesburg to Margaret Clark-Briggs, he married Alice Downard on Feb. 20, 1965, in Galesburg. She survives.

Also surviving are five sons, Richard (and Charlotte) of Bushnell, Roger (and Deborah) and David (and Amy), both of Galesburg, Michael (and Amy) of Evansville, Ind., and Jeffrey (and Latricia) of Avon and ; one stepsister, Patricia; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson.

A Vietnam War veteran, he served in the Army from 1969 to 1971.

He worked for Gale Products/OMC for 15 years, Galesburg School District 205, worked security at Maytag for four years and last was a bus driver for Mayflower.

He attended First Church of the Nazarene.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at East Linwood Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded by Ralph M. Noble American Legion Post. Visitation will be 30 minutes before services at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel.
