Stanhope Burgess was a native of Atlanta, Georgia and lived in Spring Creek for the past 17 years.
He was the son of Robert B Burgess and Harriet A. Acree of Georgia.
He was a retired machinist for the Georgia Power Company, a member of the First Baptist Church of Crawfordviile, a member of the Aloha Shrine Temple of Hawaii and a past master and life member of the Clarksville, Georgia F&AM lodge.
Survivors include four daughters, two brothers; C. S . Burgess and R. H. Burgess, and one sisters.
