Professional Hockey Player. Bailey who was born on May 29, 1931, in Kenora, Ontario, Canada, played the position of Right Wing for teams in the National Hockey League (NHL), International Hockey League (IHL), Quebec Hockey League (QHL), Western Hockey League (WHL), American Hockey League (AHL), and the Eastern Hockey League (EHL). At 6'00" and 197lbs he played for the Auto Hettchel from 1947 to 1948, Toledo Mercurys from 1951 to 1952, Cleveland Barons from 1952 to 1953, Ottawa Senators from 1953 to 1954, Pittsburgh Hornets from 1954 to 1956, and 1961 to 1962, Toronto Maple Leafs from 1953 to 1956, Springfield Indians from 1956 to 1957, Detroit Red Wings from 1956 to 1958, Chicago Blackhawks from 1957 to 1958, Cleveland Barons from 1958 to 1960, Buffalo Bisons from 1959 to 1960, Quebec Aces from 1960 to 1961, San Francisco Seals from 1961 to 1963, Philadelphia Ramblers from 1963 to 1964, Fort Wayne Komets from 1963 to 1964, and the Dayton Gems from 1964 to 1968. As a rookie hockey player in the 1952 to 1953 season herecorded 11 goals, 35 assists and a league-leading 115 penalty minutes withthe Cleveland Barons, helping the club to win the Calder Cup and again winning the Calder Cup in 1955. After his hockey career, Bailey lived in Cleveland, Ohio. Bailey died on October 24, 2003, at the age of 72.
