James Abbott, Jr., 58 years of age, of the Cedar Grove community departed this life on Saturday, July 29th, 2006.

He was born on September 1st, 1947, son of the late Claude and Goldie Abbott. He was a member of the Baptist faith, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

James was survived, by his loving wife, Leevonia "Sis Taylor" Abbott, whom he married on June 21st, 1972; two sisters, Evelyn Bdin of Somerset, Kentucky and Ruby (and Leon) Butler of Alabama; two sons, James Abbott of Somerset, Kentucky and Rodney Abbott of Science Hill, Kentucky; his mother-in-law, Minnie Taylor of Somerset, Kentucky; two brother-in-laws, Eddie (and Effie) Taylor and Joe (and Melanie) Taylor, both of Somerset, Kentucky; two sister-in-laws, Valerie Taylor and Penny (and Bryon) Brown, both of Somerset, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Eric Daulton of Somerset, Kentucky, Kristopher Abbott, Aaron Abbott, and Cierra Purcell, all of Science Hill, Kentucky, and Beverly and Makinzie Abbott, both of Somerset, Kentucky; and a host of other family and friends who mourn his passing.

He was preceded in death by his father, Claude Abbott; his mother, Goldie Abbott; one brother and five sisters.

Visitations were held after 5:00 p.m. at the Pulaski Funeral Home in Somerset, Kentucky on Tuesday, August 1st, 2006.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, August 2nd, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Brother Clyde Strunk officiating.

Burial followed in the Burnside Cemetery in Pulaski County, Kentucky.
