A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, July 26, 2002, in Sandy Baptist Church for Willard "Bill" Boring, who died July 21 at age 91.

Mr. Boring was born Oct. 31, 1910, in Boring, the grandson of W.H. Boring, the man for whom the city was named. A 1929 graduate of Gresham High School, he was a dairy and beef farmer as well as a clerk and later business manager for Sandy High School. He was a board member of the Clackamas County intermediate education district for 16 years. In 1938, he married Frances Adair; she died in December.

Survivors include his daughter, Shirley Crow; sons, Bob and Jim; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
