Beloved son of John Bonsall and Phoebe/and or Phebe (Wilcox)of Philadelphia PA.John Bonsall married Phoebe on October 23,1753 in Philadelphia Pa. He married outside his church/faith and was disowned by his family.

Dearest husband of Rachel(Bonsall)b. 1752(d.of Richard Bonsall and Sarah Horne).

First wife.Benjamin Bonsall and Rachel were married August 21, 1777,at St.Michaels and Zion Church in Philadelphia Pa.
Rachel who was also a second cousin, died circa 1814.
Benjamin Bonsall served his country proudly and upon returning home was disowned by his Quaker/Friends Church, he then joined the Presbyterian church.

1. Jane b. Nov. 14, 1814 in Millerstown Perry Co. Pa. and died at Millerstown Perry CO,PA. on Jan. 28 1903 Whom married John Wright b. March 19, 1815 and died on March 15, 1871 Married on April 15, 1840 and had one known son Anson B.Wright born on Sept. 11, 1857.Anson B.Wright married Margaret M.Winey on Sept. 19,1882 . Also had Silas Wright.

2.Jesse b. May 17, 1818 born in Millerstown Perry County PA. and died at St. Charles twp. Floyd CO. IA. circa 1850.Jesse married Margaret Smith b. March 23, 1823 in PA.Married on Jan.11,1842, one known son John Calvin Bonsall b. April 7, 1851 in Perry Co. PA. and died at Floyd County. Iowa. on Aug. 23, 1919.John Calvin Bonsall married Catherine Anna Miller born on March 1,1861 in Cook County Ill. and died at Floyd County Iowa on March 20, 1900 they were married on October 17, 1887 in Floyd County Iowa.


Benjamin Bonsall has a Revolutionary War Pension record #S22132 series M805

Benjamin crossed the Delaware with General George Washington on December 26,1776,and was present at the attack on Trenton.Also Princeton Jan.03,1777 ,and survived the VERY HARD WINTER AT VALLEY FORGE.He was personally discharged by General George Washington .

"It appears that Benjamin Bonsall while residing in Philadelphia PA. enlisted on December 1776 , in The Third Regiment, First Battalion, Pennsylvania Militia, as a private in Captain Francis Delaneys' Company, Colonel Cadwalader, and Colonel Nixon Pennsylvania Regiments and was present at the battles of Trenton and Princeton.He then enlisted the later part of 1777 and served two 2 months and fifteen days as a private in Captain Benjamin Horner's' Pennsylvania Company.Benjamins' statements that are handwritten are VERY hard to read 3 pages all in ink and small print."

Pension application was executed and filed by sworn statements on January 6,1834 while residing in Greenwood Township, Perry County Pennsylvania aged 75 years.a copy of his own signature is there.
