Taken from the Pennsylvania Veterans Burial Cards 1777-1999 record for harry.Harry J. Durbin, 59, of Waynesburg R.D.5, died at 10:29 a.m. Sunday, December 22, 1985, in Greene County Memorial Hospital.

He was born June 14, 1926, in Jacktown, a son of Harry D. and Mary E. Murphy Durbin. He was a Presbyterian. Mr. Durbin lived in Greene County most of his life.

Before retiring in 1981 because of ill health, he was employed as a mechanic for about 13 years by Williamson Shaft Co. of Fairmont, W.Va. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Mr. Durbin was a member of United Mine Workers Local 1624 of District 31, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 461, VFW Post 4793 and American Legion Post 330, all of Waynesburg.

On November 22, 1947, he married Nellie Ann Tharp, who survives. Also surviving are five sons, Harry K. and Mark D. Durbin, both of Waynesburg R.D.5, Larry D. Durbin of Aliquippa, and David A. and Rick L. Durbin, both at home; one daughter, Mrs. Roy (Linda) Engle of Waynesburg R.D.5; six grandchildren; one step-granddaughter; four brothers, Harold, Dwight and Blaine Durbin, all of West
Alexander, and James Durbin of Baltimore, Md.; and two sisters, Mrs. Merlin (June) Clough of Baltimore, and Mrs. William (Mary Lou) Holland of Delta. A sister, Hazel,
is deceased.

Friends of Harry J. Durbin of Waynesburg R.D.5, who died, Sunday, December 22, 1985, will be received from 3-9 p.m. Monday in the Lantz-Rush Funeral Home Inc., Rogersville, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 24, with the Rev. Robert Ratchford officiating.

Interment in Oakmont Cemetery. Full military rites will be accorded by VFW Post 4793 and American Legion Post 330, both of Waynesburg.
