Funeral services for Mrs. Ella Buchholtz Tieken, 81, who died Sunday, Oct. 29, in a local nursing home are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31, at the Seydler-Hill Funeral Home. Interment will be in the City Cemetery, with Rev. Fred Carter officiating.
Mrs. Tieken was born on Sept. 27, 1908 and married the late Robert Louis Tieken on June 12, 1929 in Gonzales. The couple made their home here. She was the daughter of Herman Fred Buchholtz of Germany and the former Alma Richter of Fayette County. Mrs. Buchholtz is survived by a sister, Mrs. Edna Soefje of Ottine; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Katy Bruns of Gonzales; brothers Herman Buchholtz of Gonzales and Arthur Buchholtz of Luling and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Oscar, Walter and George Buchholtz; and one sister, Elizabeth Neuse.
