B-24E Liberator #42-7430, attached to
the 101st Pilot Proficiency Training
Squadron, Fort Worth Army Airfield.

Killed when the bomber stalled and crashed,
while on a training flight, 3 miles north
of Granbury, Hood County, Texas,
October 9, 1943.

Five other airmen also perished:

1st Lt. George M. Reinholdt
2nd Lt. Frank M. Jordan
Sgt. Lyle S. Mitchell
PFC Peter Marchewsky
Pvt. Paul J. O'Neill
