Martha Olevia Rogers, 77, of 2128 S. Riverside Drive, Lot 18, died Friday, Jan. 2, 1998, at her home following a long illness. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Officiating will be Bishop Jeffrey Dawson. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the George L. Gay Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Iowa City Hospice.

Mrs. Rogers was born Jan. 20, 1920, to John L. Ferris and Murtina (Powell) Ferris in Beaver, Utah. She married Norman Eugene Rogers on June 7, 1942, in Glendale, Calif.

She graduated from Beaver High School and was a homemaker and worked as part of the custodial staff at the University of Iowa Quadrangle. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and The Chicago Temple Mission. She was a church nursery volunteer and state historical society volunteer

Survivors include her husband; three daughters and their husbands, Rose Ann and Nicholas Laub of Salt Lake City, Utah, R. Christine and Leon Sant of Vona, Colo., and Linda S. and Kerry Stubbs of Kearns, Utah; three sons and their wives, Thomas L. and Joyce Rogers of Iowa City, Jerry E. and Carol Rogers of Tipton, and David M. and Lani Rogers of Nampa, Idaho; two brothers and their wives, Joseph D. and Gladys Ferris of Boise, Idaho, and Wallace and Beth Dean of Beaver, Utah; one sister and her husband, Julia Dean Leo Campeau of Twin Falls, Idaho; 23 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Her parents; one son, Richard Rogers, one brother, Warren Dean; and one granddaughter, Alesha Rogers, died earlier.
