Jewish immigrant, born in Paderborn, Westphalia, Germany. Came to the United States to make his fortune. He became one of the wealthiest and most influential men in the American Southwest. He sent for, and married Julie Schuster (see entry for Julie Staad) from Germany, building a marvelous mansion in Santa Fe. Abaraham and Julie had eight children. Abraham's wife Julie's spirit is said to haunt the mansion, which is now part of the La Posada Hotel in Santa Fe. (Note: There is a ninth child in addition to those listed below.
