Garden City -- Josephine E. Michlitsch, 86, died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2003, at St. Catherine Hospital.

She was born April 15, 1917, in Munjor to Jacob and Agnes (Doerfler) Urban.

She married Wilfred "Curley" Herman on April 24, 1934. He died June 9, 1977. She married Leander "Lee" Michlitsch on July 5, 1980, in Garden City.

She lived in Pfeifer and Victoria before moving to Garden City in 1947. She was the produce manager for Wall's IGA.

Survivors include her husband, of the home; a stepson, Ray Michlitsch, Wichita; two sisters, Florence Hertel and LaVina Dreiling, both of Hays; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Wilfred Herman Jr. and Merle Herman.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Dominic Catholic Church, Garden City; burial in Valley View Cemetery, Garden City. A vigil service will be at 7 p.m. today at the church. Visitation will be until 6 p.m. today at Garnand Funeral Home, Garden City.

Memorials are suggested to the St. Dominic School Endowment Fund.
