Her parents were Maggie and Dennis Bolding. Deloris was one of ten children. Two brothers Dwight, Donald, two sisters Joyce and Bobbie. Also one sister and four bothers who preceded her in death Ruthie Mae, John Louis, Percy, Charles and Dennis Jr.

In 1968 she married Albert Wells. To that union one child was born Eric Wells.
