Viola M. Lavergne

On the afternoon of May 6, 2005, at 12:20 p.m. an angel of the Lord called our beloved Viola M. Lavergne to rest from her labor. She was born Aug. 30, 1912, in Church Point to the late Adjie and the late Azena Boudreaux Meche . She was preceded in death by her husband Paul Lavergne. Mourning her departure, yet cherishing sweet memories, are four daughters, Anna Mae Jones, Anna Jean Hebert, Sybil Boudreaux and Earline Smith; a son, Rodney J. Lavergne; two sisters, Lula Venable and Ezar Lavergne; two brothers, Willis Meche and Leroy Meche ; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Visiting at Welsh Funeral Home, 6700 Florida Blvd., Sunday May 8, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting continues at the funeral home Monday, May 9, from 9 a.m. until service time at 11:30 a.m., conducted by Deacon James E. Wax. Internment in Roselawn Memorial Park. She was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church.
