Marlene Anita Funk 77, of Prineville, Ore., passed away at her home on Jan. 21, 2008. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at New Life Bible Chapel in Prineville. Dr. Ron Hemphill will officiate.

Marlene was born on July 6, 1930 in Oakland, Calif., to Albert Earl and Mable Enola (Bristow) Lewis. After school Marlene worked in Alaska on the fishing boats and was the only woman. She also set chokers in Alaska forests. Marlene was married April 12, 1973, in Goldendale, Wash., to Robert Funk. She then helped her husband run a small farm up Juniper Canyon where they raised orphan animals. She also worked at Tastee Treat where she loved to visit with customers. Marlene did volunteer work for the American Legion and she was very involved with her church functions at New Life Bible Chapel where she was a member. She was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.

She and her husband frequently went fishing at Phillips Reservoir or Unity Reservoir. She also loved her pets, gardening, reading, oil painting, and singing.

Survivors include: stepdaughter Marie and husband Mike Crawford of Alfalfa, Ore.; three grandchildren Conrad and Eric Crawford and Eva Johnson; five great-grandchildren; and one cousin Enola Steen of Hoquiam, Wash.

Marlene was preceded in death by her husband Robert, sisters Nadine and Wandalee, and daughter Sandra Lee Funk. Memorial contributions may be made to New Life Bible Chapel Building Fund. 510 NW 4th Street Prineville, Oregon 97754.
