Harry Brown was here this week from Calumet City, Ill., to attend the funeral of Sam Brand, at Dayton. Mr. Brand died Tuesday, suddenly, of heart failure. He was past 77 years of age, and was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Wash Brand. Surviving are the wife and six children.
When Mrs. Martha Brown was a year old, she was taken to the home of Samuel Brand, Sr., and grew up there. Sam Brand, Jr., also grew up in his grandfather's home, so he and Mrs. Brown were like brother and sister.
