Funeral services for Roy E. Aymond will be conducted Sunday morning at the Hixson Bros. Funeral Home in Bunkie, La.

Mr. Aymond, 65, retired as cartoonist with the New Orleans States in 1945. He joined the newspaper shortly after World War I...

Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Young Mortuary Service, Inc., 1029 Jackson. The body will be sent by train to Bunkie at 8 a.m. Sunday.

Religious rites are to be conducted by St. Anthony's church in Bunkie and interment will be in Pythian cemetery.

A native of Bunkie, Mr. Aymond was graduated from Bunkie High School and studied cartooning in New York. At the age of 15 he joined a syndicate as one of the youngest cartoonists in America.

During World War I he was an aviator and served with Capt. Eddie Rickenbacker in France.

He worked for a short while with the New York Sun.

Mr. Aymond resided with his wife, the former Myra Stewart, at 1729 Coliseum. Other survivors are two brothers, Dr. Branch Aymond, New Orleans, and Dave L. Aymond, Bunkie.
