DIED—Thursday evening, Feb. 25, 1897, Mrs. Mary Jane, wife of J. D. Ness. Funeral services on Saturday.

Mary Jane Webb was born in the state of Illinois, March 9, 1835. She moved to Keokuk, Iowa at an early age and became a member of the church at the age of 14 years. She was married to J. D. Ness in July, 1853. From this union came eleven children of which seven are living, four having passed on before. She was respected by those who knew her best and died in hope of eternal life. She leaves a husband and seven children to mourn her departure. After calling the family to her bedside she said “I want all of you to meet me in heaven.” Then she sang “Home Sweet Home” and “What a Friend We have in Jesus.” Then sank into the arms of Him who hath said “I will never leave or forsake thee.”

Funeral discourse was preached by Elder Jackson. Subject, “The Everlasting Promise,” based on Jno. 14:1-3, 2 Pet. 3:13.
