Eldest son and heir of Ralph ST LEGER of Ulcombe; created Knight, 1539; appointed Lord Deputy of Ireland by Henry VIII, 7 July 1540, and served in that capacity under Edward VI and Queen Mary; he was married to Agnes WARHAM, a niece of William WARHAM (the Archbishop of Canterbury, who married Henry to his first wife Catherine of Aragon); Agnes died shortly after her husband, but, to avoid heraldic complications, was buried a day before him.
Sir Anthony and Agnes had issue:

2. Warham ST LEGER, born about 1525; died 1597; married to Usula NEVILLE, with issue.
