Francis E. Collins, 76, died at 8:45 AM Tuesday, Feb. 13, 1996, in St. Anthony Health Care, where he had been a resident since Jan. 23. Born Oct. 6, 1919, in Clarksburg, WV, he had lived in Lafayette most of his life. In 1954, he married [second] Cecelia Adams Williams in Monticello; she died in 1981.

Mr. Collins worked at the Aluminum Company of America from 1939 until retiring in 1985. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1154 and American Legion Post 11. He also was a member of the Eagles Lodge.

Surviving are a daughter, Carol J. (Mrs. Robert) Thomson of Pleasant Lake; a stepson, Bill Williams; a stepdaughter, Cecelia Phillips, both of Lafayette; brother, Roy Collins of Lapel; a sister, Evelyn (Mrs. Charles) Dieterle of Lafayette; Catherine Barry, with whom he made his home; three grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and 16 step-great-grandchildren.
