Entering the military from New York, on March 13, 1941. PFC. Evans was assigned as a rifleman (mos 745) to Company A, 48th Armored Infantry Battalion 7th Armored Division.

He sacrificed his life on a road between Meijel and Asten, Netherlands. This engagement was known as The Battle Of The Canals.

The U.S. Headstone Application was dated April 2, 1951 and signed by Mrs. Mary Yatsko.
