Husband of Salome nee Heisler and Susanna A. nee Bock. Son of Carl/Charles and Margaretha Tschons/Jones.

Tschons is a Pennsylvania German version of Jones. His obituary is missing his daughter Emma.

History of Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania In Two Volumes, including a genealogical and biographical record of many families and persons in the county; edited by Adolf W. Schalck and D. C. Henning, State Historical Association, 1907, Volume II, Page 239:

"Reuben Jones, the father of the subject of this review, married Sallie Heisler, and after working at his trade of shoemaker for several years engaged in farming in East Brunswick township. He and his wife both died there and are buried at McKeansburg. They had a family of nine children who grew to maturity, viz: Rebecca and Mary, twins, Reuben, George, Emma, Daniel, Eliza and William and Caroline, twins. Rebecca married John Brenner; Mary married Benjamin Seltzer; George is in Chicago; Emma is the wife of Daniel Frantz; Daniel died at the age of about fifty-five, at Wichita, Kan., and was buried there; and Eliza is the wife of Jacob Maley."

Reuben Jones, of McKeansburg, Dead.
Reuben Jones, who departed this life on Sunday morning, in his 81st year, was born in Longswamp township, Berks county, in 1813. Sixty years ago he came to Schuylkill county with his father Carl Tschons and located near McKeansburg, where he has since resided, and lived upon the farm where he died a continuous period of fifty- two years. He was married to Sallie Heisler, a sister of the late well known Marshal Heisler, of the C. & I. police force. She died in 1858, after bearing to her husband twelve children, nine of whom survive at this time, namely: Reuben, of Pottsville: George J., Chicago; Daniel M., Wichita, Kansas: William A., McKeansburg: Rebecca (Mrs. Brenner) Mahanoy City; Mary Ann (Mrs. Benjamin Seltzer) Shenandoah; Eliza (Mrs. Mehle) Mahanoy City: Caroline, at home. In 1860 he was married a second time to the widow of Samuel Leininger, who survives without issue. Deceased was a good citizen, a man of street integrity and force of moral character commanding the respect of all who knew him, who raised a large family, all of whom are pursuing useful and exemplary lives. His funeral will take place From his late residence on next Saturday morning, the delay being occasioned by the distance that must be traversed by some of the sons and relatives who reside in the west.

An Early Settler Reuben Jones, who died at McKeansburg, aged 80 years, was married to Sallie Heisler, a sister of the late Marshall Heisler, of Minersville. Nine children survive him. They are Reuben, of Pottsville; George J., of Chicago; Daniel M., Wichita, Kansas; Wm. A., Keansburg; Mrs. John Brenner, Mahanoy City; Mrs. Benjamin Seltzer, Shenandoah; Mrs. Daniel Frantz, Mrs. Jacob Meihle, and Caroline, living at home. Deceased was born at Long Swamp, Berks county, and came to this county sixty years ago. He occupied a farm at McKeansburg for fifty-two years.
