Services were held in the Providence Baptist church south of Monticello Tuesday afternoon at three-thirty for Bizar Barnett, 63, lifelong resident of Jayess in Lawrence county. Mr. Barnett was found dead just over the Lincoln county line Sunday afternoon. Mr. Barnett had left home to gather some pears Sunday afternoon. The coroner of Lincoln county, Dewey Jackson, ruled that death was from a heart attack. He was a retired farmer.
Rev. David Fleetwood, pastor at Ballard's Chapel was assisted by Rev. Milton O. Martin, pastor at Rock Hill Pentecostal church.
Sherrod Rayborn was pianist. Special music was by Mr. and Mrs. Sherrod Rayborn, Rev. F. E. Sellers, and Jere Thames.
Pall bearers were Gerald Alexander, Theryl Alexander, Aaron Alexander, Billy Joe Alexander, Denny Hall, Jr., and Huey Neal.
Burial was in the Providence Baptist church cemetery with the Lawrence County Funeral Home of Monticello in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Eitel Alexander Barnett, Jayess; a daughter, Mrs. Evelyn McInnis, Springfield, Oregon; four sons: Devon Barnett, Derl Barnett and Jerry Lavell Barnett, all of Jayess; Nolan Barnett, Dallas, Texas; four brothers: Rufus Barnett, Jayess; Marcus Barnett, New Orleans; Herman, Mississippi, and Clyde Barnett of Texas; two sisters: Mrs. Vera Wilber, Texas and Mrs. Rosa Lee Ballard, Natchez. He is also survived by three half brothers; one half sister, thirteen grandchildren and one great grandchild.
